About Romsey Train Station

Romsey station (1847) was built by Southampton and Dorchester Railway, later becoming LSWR.

It served as junction for Andover and Salisbury lines until 1960s closures.

The station survived Beeching due to commuter demand.

The original buildings were replaced in 1980s but retain traditional styling.

Today it handles 1 million annual passengers on SWRs Salisbury Southampton route.

The 2018 accessibility improvements included new footbridge and lifts.

Romseys station maintains importance for both commuters and tourists visiting the historic abbey town, with heritage rail events occasionally using the preserved section of the former Andover line.
