About Leagrave Train Station

Opened in 1868 by the Midland Railway to serve Lutons northern expansion, Leagrave grew from rural halt to important commuter stop.

The original brick buildings were replaced with functional structures in the 1960s.

Electrification in 1983 dramatically increased service frequency.

Its location near major roads made it a natural park and ride hub.

While the station itself is modern, Victorian railway workers cottages nearby preserve historical character.

Today as a key Thameslink stop, Leagrave connects Luton and Bedford to London, with ongoing improvements to handle increasing passenger numbers.
