About Kearsney (Kent) Train Station

Built in 1861 as part of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway, Kearsney served wealthy Dover residents and visitors to its ornamental gardens.

The station was nearly closed in the 1960s but remained open due to local opposition.

Reduced to unstaffed status in 1972, it retains its original Victorian platform.

Kearsney's survival represents the value of rural stations in Kent's commuter belt.

Recent housing developments have increased usage, though facilities remain minimal.

The station's peaceful character continues to attract visitors to Dover's historic parks and gardens.
