About Galashiels Train Station

Opened in 1849 as part of the Waverley Route, Galashiels Station was rebuilt in 2015 for the Borders Railway reopening.

The modern design incorporates local tweed patterns, honoring Selkirkshires textile heritage.

Handling 300,000 annual passengers, it serves as the main hub for the Borders Railway, connecting to Edinburgh in 55 minutes.

The original 1892 water tower remains operational for steam excursions.
